The type of material used in the manufacturing of a custom ear mold is important when considering a properly fitting for your client. At Earmold Concepts, a wide variety of F.D.A. approved materials of the highest quality obtainable are available for your selection, to provide your client with an ear mold that satisfies their individual needs.

Lucite (hard)Lucite: Hard Clear Acrylic
This material is an excellent all-purpose ear mold material. It is durable, very seldom discolors and allows the greatest versatility for modification. This is available in crystal clear, or tinted in a variety of colors.


Silicone: Solid Flesh Non AllergenicSilicone: Solid Flesh Non Allergenic
Silicone molds are made from a medical grade elastomer, the most ideal material for a perfect seal for your problem ear level cases and the ideal solution for your high powered ear level aids that cause feedback. It’s available in flesh and opaque clear and brown and pink.


Soft Seal SiliconeSoft-Seal: Non Allergenic Silicone
Same quality grade material as silicone flesh, but comes in opaque clear.


Contender #1 Clear: Non Allergenic And Non ToxicContender #1 Clear: Non Allergenic And Non Toxic
This special formula is a higher grade of silicone material. This material is so pure that it is used for surgical implants. We recommend this for your more severe to profound loss, also for those very sensitive ears. This material is available in opaque clear.


Contender #2 Beige: Non allergenic and non toxicContender # 2 Beige: Non Allergenic And Non Toxic
This formula is the same as contender #1, but has a difference in color. The contender #2 has a beige tint.


 

*FDA Approved simply means that the Food & drug administration has approved this material. What this act says is that the plastic must be toxic free to meet the standards as set down for packaging food and anything that pertains to medicine or a medical application, that must be sterile or non toxic.
